Now Open in the Changing Gallery - 381 Days: The Montgomery Bus Boycott Story

Made possible through the support of AARP, this SITES (Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service) exhibit was developed in collaboration with Troy University Rosa Parks Library & Museum. Created to commemorate the events of 1955 that became the genesis of the modern Civil Rights movement, 381 Days: The Montgomery Bus Boycott Story is a thought-provoking, multimedia examination of an important era in American history. Jazz Poetry Jams featuring Cola Rum

Hailing from Jacksonville, residing in Atlanta and currently traveling the globe, performing & battling some of the best slam poets in the business, Cola Rum's work is an entertaining & enlightening blend of cynicism and humor. He'll appear on the Blue Room stage on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:00pm as part of the ongoing Jazz Poetry Jams series. Click here for more information.

Jazz Storytelling 2008-2009 Season

Jazz Storytelling, a free program featuring vocalist Lisa Henry, storyteller Brother John, bassist Tyrone Clark and drummer Mike Warren, introduces children to the sights and sounds of jazz music through interactive stories and songs. Each session is held in the Atrium of the American Jazz Museum and explores a new topic or theme. This fall, we'll be hosting Jazz Storytelling on the 1st Saturday and 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. Click here for the events calendar.
